I am fortunate and pleased to master complementary skills that have helped me pursue a dual career: in business and consulting on the one hand, and as a jazz musician on the other.
I alternated between marketing management and international consulting positions in large and medium-sized companies. The experience of coaching has completed my career.
At a very young age, I was trained at the Conservatoire de Meudon in the classical clarinet school with Gilles Honorat, which allowed me to acquire purity of sound and technique. Then I discovered jazz. I started to play at 17 years old with friends from high school, to progressively rub shoulders with professional orchestras and participate in the events of the classical jazz scene. From the 80's and in parallel to my university studies (PhD in management at the University of Paris Dauphine), I met musicians from very different worlds such as Marc and Stan Laferrière, Alain Bouchet, Joe Turner, Benny Waters, Sam Woodyard, Claude Tissendier, Patrick Artero, Nicolas Montier, Laurent Mignard, Laurent Bajata ...
My clarinet style is inspired by Hubert Rostaing, Bob Wilber or Buddy de Franco. While continuing to deepen my knowledge of my instrument in the swing repertoire, I became familiar with the repertoire of Django Reinhardt by listening to his recordings with the clarinetist Hubert Rostaing. I also worked on the alto and tenor saxophone, which allowed me to expand my repertoire and to enjoy the pleasure of playing in several big bands. I currently play in the saxophone section of the Merrie Hot Melodies Big Band. On this instrument, I claim the influence of Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz or Zoot Sims. I have just created "Chet in Mind", a wonderful quintet inspired by the repertoire of Chet Baker in which I play clarinet and tenor and sing.
The intersection of these complementary musical and managerial skills has led me to develop seminars and workshops around the concept of "jazz and leadership". During these training sessions, I help leaders and managers to strengthen and develop the skills they need in their role (creativity, confidence, cooperation, inspiration, ...).
