This wide musical spectrum allows me to propose to my audience different musical universes.

Chet in Mind

In a famous interview, Chet Baker said he didn't know if he was a trumpeter who sang or a singer who played the trumpet. This double talent is at the heart of the Chet in Mind project.

The artistic challenge of this adventure, initiated with Simon Teboul (double bass), is based on original arrangements that create a different atmosphere for each of the tunes while respecting Chet's spirit (s). The challenge consisted in relying on my timbre and my range for the vocal part and to find a trumpet player who knows Chet's repertoire and style in the person of Brice Moscardini. The trumpet and vocals are integrated into the dynamic and shimmering setting of a first-class rhythm section composed of Simon Teboul on double bass, Vinh Lê on piano and Yves Nahon on drums. In addition to the solidity of their accompaniment, their solos prove their inventiveness and their musicality.

I am pleased to introduce our producer Michel Stochitch, founder of Camille Productions, an independent label specialized in jazz. Don't hesitate to visit his website to discover many talented artists.

Elegant jazz served by a resolutely swinging quartet (clarinet/saxophone, piano, double bass, drums). This orchestra recreates for you the warm and cosy atmosphere of the jazz clubs in the spirit of the small formations of the 40s.

The repertoire is composed of typical standards known and less known of the swing era. It has been worked out with arrangements that give them their own atmosphere, so that each one tells a story of its own.

Each number proposes a different journey; the alternation of clarinet, tenor saxophone and vocals offers the listener a plural sound palette.

Program: disheveled double bass introductions, tenderly whispered ballads, clarinet/piano cross improvisations and baroque fugues springing up from who knows where, all on original arrangements. Energy and emotion guaranteed.

This is a rare orchestra. Not so much by the repertoire it defends (even if many of the titles interpreted here are very little played) but by its lineup. Indeed, the many bands that have paid tribute to Django Reinhardt or that claim to be part of his legacy are inspired by "string" formulas (several guitars or guitar with a violin) but few take on the challenge of associating a clarinet and a guitar.

The velvet tone of the clarinet is combined with the tangy notes of the guitar to give the audience the magical atmosphere of this very mixed music. Beyond the notes it is the evocation of a typical musical language, which draws its sources in the music of central Europe and that the jazz fertilizes. The rhythmic part of the orchestra is assured by a second guitarist and a double bass player.

Merry Hot Melodies

The Merry Hot Melodies Jazz Orchestra re-creates one of the major periods in the history of jazz: the Jazz Hot, or jazz of the 'Roaring Twenties'.

During the 20's and early 30's, big bands were created and performed in famous places: the Cotton Club, the Apollo, the Savoy Ballroom... At that time, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Fletcher Henderson, King Oliver, Bix Beiderbecke, etc... laid the foundations of this music which was to cross the 20th century like a meteor and which is still a critical milestone today.

The orchestra plays transcribed arrangements from that era, which give pride of place to the soloists and offer a shimmering sound palette characterized by the lyricism of the saxophone section, the expressionist effects of the brass (trombones and trumpets) and the clarinet, and the rhythmic support of the piano, the double bass or the banjo...

Make way for a hectic, jubilant, communicative, unbridled music... !
